2009 Pinot Noir, Split Rock Vineyard, Sonoma Coast

This lively Pinot embraces the senses with a nose full of ripe plum, black cherry & dragon fruit; nuances of baking spice and dried flowers. With vibrant acidity, the wine dances across the mid-palate with notes of pomegranate & cardamom, finishing long with supple tannins and lingering floral undertones. Drink now-2015.

Winemaking Notes: The fruit – Dijon Clones 667 & 115 - was harvested on September 19, 2009 at optimal ripeness to achieve both complexity in flavors and phenolic balance. Each cluster was hand sorted to ensure the inclusion of only the highest quality berries. The fruit was cold-soaked for 3 days, warmed up and left on skins for 14 days. This was fermented at cool temperatures in order to bolster the floral aromatics and contribute rounder mouth feel. Aged in French oak – 30% new – for 11 months. *
